With so many choices out there, how do you know where to start? Luckily, choosing the right mattress is as simple as taking a little time to consider your own personal circumstances – including what you need in a bed and what you can afford to spend on one – and finding the store that meets those needs. Here are some more tips:
If you're looking to purchase a new mattress, it's important to figure out why you need one. First, how much time do you spend on your mattress? This can be a good way to determine how often it might make sense for you to replace your current mattress.
Secondly, consider how active your sleeping habits are. If you're someone who likes to get up and move around in the middle of the night or if you like starting and stopping sleep cycles often throughout the night, then it may be worth considering a firmer type of mattress that will help support these types of behaviors.
Thirdly, think about how heavy or light your body is relative to its size. If your weight falls within an acceptable range (with some variation), then this shouldn't be too much of an issue when selecting a new bed set. However, if one part of their weight is significantly higher than another part (i..e., one shoulder hurts more than another shoulder), then this could mean there isn't enough support under certain areas which could lead to discomfort over time as those muscles weaken from overuse.
In order to find the right mattress for you, it's important to consider what type of mattress you want. There are three main types:
Firm: These have little or no cushioning, and they tend to be more supportive. They are excellent for people with back pain who need a firm surface to sleep on. Some firm mattresses can feel very hard at first but soften up over time as they break-in.
Medium: These mattresses have some give and provide some pressure relief, but their firmness is not as extreme as that of a firm mattress. These tend to be best suited for people who like softer beds without sinking too deeply into them (such as side sleepers).
Soft: This type is soft enough that your weight will sink down at least an inch or two when lying on it—but not so soft that you'll sink all the way through! If you prefer sleeping on top of your bed instead of sinking into it, then this might be the best choice for you!
When shopping for a mattress, one of the most important factors to consider is what material it's made of. First, check out the materials and see if they're hypoallergenic like wool or latex. If you have allergies or asthma, these are good options as they reduce dust mites and mold growth. You'll also want to look at the quality of the materials used: Is it fire-resistant? Does it have waterproofing? What about durability? Think about how long you'll be sleeping on your new bed—if you're an active sleeper who needs deep pressure relief (like getting hugged), you may want a firm or extra firm mattress to prevent tossing and turning too much during sleep.
Additionally, make sure to check for fire safety regulations as well as waterproofing on all potential purchases. A mattress should also be comfortable enough for prolonged use without causing any aches or pains in the back or other body parts; look for one that offers adequate support from its springs or coils (if it has them).
If comfort is also important to you, make sure to test out any mattresses before making a purchase—you should try them out in person so that no surprises come later when it comes time for delivery!
To get the best night's sleep, you'll want to choose a mattress made of materials that are healthy and long-lasting. Some mattresses contain polyurethane foam or latex foam, while others use natural latex rubber. Research these different types of materials before making your purchase so you can determine whether they're right for you and your lifestyle.
Warranties are one of the most important parts of mattress shopping. They can protect you from buying a product that your body won't like or from having to replace the entire thing after it wears out. Warranties are supposed to cover the cost of replacing or repairing a mattress, so it's important to make sure you get one with a long enough warranty period before purchasing one. Most warranties last for 10 years, but some will only last five years and others even less than that.
Warranties are also good because they allow consumers to return their mattresses at any point if they aren't satisfied with them or if something goes wrong with them within that time frame (or even outside of it). Just remember: If there isn't a warranty involved in your purchase, then don't expect anything more than what's written on paper when making purchases online through big retailers like Amazon; otherwise you could end up paying hundreds more dollars later down the road when problems arise!
Price is a consideration when you’re shopping for a mattress, but it shouldn’t be the only one. A comfortable mattress at an affordable price—that's your goal here. You can always save money by shopping around and finding sales on mattresses or even buying used ones. You might not get a warranty, but if the price is right, that shouldn't matter to you!
There are three main places you can purchase a bed. The first is from a local mattress store, the second is from a national chain and the third would be an online retailer. When purchasing from a local store, it’s important to keep in mind that you might not have access to all of your options because they may not carry every brand or model that you want. If this is something you want to avoid, then going with an online retailer could work better for your needs as there will be no limitations on what brands or models they offer.
If price isn't an issue and getting exactly what you want is important, then buying locally will give you more options than buying nationally or online. However, if the price is important and convenience matters most - especially when choosing between buying at either location—then going through an internet company like Amazon or Costco makes sense because they have large selections and competitive prices—and let's face it: who doesn't love buying things online?
When it comes to shopping for a new mattress, the most important thing you can do is visit a mattress store and talk to one of their professional salespeople. They’ll be able to help you find the right mattress for you.
Here are some things that might come up in your discussion with a salesperson:
Materials: What materials does the mattress use? Is it made from foam or coils? Does it have memory foam or latex in it? You should know what type of material will work best for your body before making your purchase, so ask questions about this before making a final decision.
Warranty: How long is the warranty on this particular model? And what does that warranty cover (e.g., damage caused by pets)? If possible, try asking someone who has had a similar experience; they may be able to tell you how easy (or difficult) it was dealing with customer service during this process – an important factor when deciding which company's products suit your needs best!

]]>So how do you choose the right pieces for your home? Here are some things to keep in mind:
Before you start shopping, it's a good idea to have a game plan in mind. This means knowing exactly what you need and want, and which features are most important to you. It also means coming up with a reasonable budget. This is especially true if you're looking for complete bedroom sets.
]]>1.) You can narrow your search quickly.
It's important to narrow your search when looking for furniture anywhere, let alone online. Modern furniture shoppers love that you can quickly look at all the different styles, colors, fabrics, sizes, and other details of your furniture online at once. If you want a small red sofa made of a certain fabric that can fit through a narrow hallway with turns, it will be frustrating to look for one in person. If you buy the same small sofa online, though, it won't take you any time to find what you need. This shows how powerful search and the Internet are in the world of online furniture.
2.) The online furniture market is a global one.
When you do a local search for furniture, you only contact a small number of possible sellers. This makes it almost certain that you won't find the "perfect" piece of furniture for your needs. With the Internet, you can search the whole world in a short amount of time and find exactly what you are looking for. With this global furniture buying power, you have the same access to the small local company as the locals, giving you the power to find the perfect fit.
3.) You can find the best price with ease.
The power you get from looking for what you want around the world also applies to price. Once you know what you want, it's easy to look up that model online to find the best price for what you want to buy. You might find the item at one online furniture store, but you might find the best price on the same piece somewhere else. This is why shopping online is so useful.
4.) It can be very safe to buy furniture online.
Despite what you may have heard, buying furniture online can be just as safe as buying it anywhere else. In many situations, you have the upper hand. For one thing, you know exactly what was bought and paid for, and there's no way to argue with that. Another great thing is that you can get to your furniture store account online quickly and easily. If you are careful and check out a furniture store before you buy, you should be fine. The best furniture companies have live customer service, great refund policies, and shopping that is completely safe and secure.
5.) You get to see what your home's furniture looks like.

The tiny home movement has been prevalent on social media sites, frequently representing an idyllic lifestyle that's more economical and better for the environment without sacrificing style.
However, tiny homes could become the answer to the growing numbers of homeowners and growing inequality. As the movement continues to push forward, we start to wonder if they are a response to housing problems and if they’re a valid one.
For a generation of hardworking people struck by a recession, historically high inequality in a plethora of areas, and loans taken out for an ostensibly necessary education that's failed to really net any benefits, tiny homes can be a fantastic option.
Tiny homes take the idea of surviving on less a bit more attractive. Sure, we would prefer it if everyone could afford mansion or at least comfortably large homes, but sadly that’s just not the case in the current economic climate.
As the future goes on, will tiny homes be a stylish option for the well-off or financially savvy folks looking for affordable yet trendy houses?
In the U.S., everything tends to be larger, and houses are no exception. The median size of a single-family home hit its max in 2015 at 2,467 sq ft. If you look at other parts of the world, especially Europe, that number is huge.
There are several explanations for this, one being that Americans started driving their cars much faster and more frequently, which made houses being built outside of the major city centers doable and suburbs around large cities became nearly guaranteed. The land there was cheaper, more plentiful, and offered the space for bigger houses to be bought.
Additionally, the idea of claiming a large plot of land seems to be a part of the American DNA, at least for a large number of people. And for quite a few people in the upper percentiles, why not build a huge house if they could afford it. This is certainly not the case for the majority of Americans however.
Another consideration is that not only are large homes expensive, but with very big homes a lot of that space is wasted. A study from UCLA found that the majority of people spend their time in the kitchen and around the television. Formal living and dining rooms, front porches, and offices were used the least. As a result of these extra, unused spaces, construction resources are wasted and energy consumption is two times what a family would require if the house were only big enough for their needs.
More modest, more energy-efficient homes are inviting a growing population of minimalists and resource-conscious individuals to give them a chance. In 2017 alone, tiny home sales increased by 67%. Coming in at below 400 sq ft on average, these homes are correspondingly affordable — for tiny homes on wheels, the average cost is $46,300, while those on a foundation run an average $119,000. As a result, 68% of tiny homeowners don't require a mortgage.
On the other hand, the group of people drawn to tiny homes isn't just wealthy minimalists who want to be trendy while reducing their consumption. In the US, 70% of average workers can't afford a home, a third of adults are a single $400 unexpected bill away from financial hardship, and one-fourth don’t have any type of retirement savings.
With this being the case, downsizing could be the only option for average workers to survive. Retirees who lost their savings because of the Recession young people entering the workforce for their first time and finding pay that does not match expenses. Tiny homes were a solution to find a place to live when you couldn’t afford a mortgage or huge down payment.
But as aesthetically pleasing as Instagram makes mobile tiny homes look, they aren’t perfect.
Journalist Jessica Bruder and author of Nomadland related an anecdote to MarketWatch showing the reality of nomadic tiny living. She recounted a story where a couple couldn’t afford to put gas in their mobile tiny home and only survived off the compassion of the gas station attendant.
And if income to wage inequality keeps growing, this could start to affect more and more people. Research implies that wealth is increasing at an incredible pace, which is in-line with economist Thomas Picketty's predictions of a significantly unequal future.
Solutions for this will need to be found, and tiny homes could be the answer, especially if new homeowners are not looking to move around with it constantly. That free up of income from not requiring as much gas is huge. These tiny homes if built by states and cities could even help to end homelessness.
What tiny homes need to really sweep the nation is for individuals of moderate-income to have regular access to them and their design. If it is only the well to do who buy them, they won’t become for than a trend.
With the economic inequality that’s so prevalent, these homes could have real value. So, here’s hoping that they can help people who would otherwise be stuck with renting finally own a home.
If you're looking for furniture for your tiny home, we have several double-duty furniture options and an article all about decorating small spaces right here.
]]>Furniture is a big investment. Hands down and no question about it. Uncomfortable beds lead to a return, uncomfortable massage chairs lead to a return, and these situations can be avoided when you make sure that you invest in the best possible item for your needs. And what if the best you could afford was a lot more?
Financing is how you get there, and holiday financing is how you make sure you can get the best before your item is on back-order. You’ll be able to make your purchase, pay on your schedule, and ensure that you take home that coveted piece of furniture or new bed before the holiday rush made it impossible to get it in time for gift exchanging.
Best of all, you can do it with Synchrony Financing and pay 0% interest for one of several great terms.
When you’re shopping and your purchase price is $2495, Synchrony offers an exclusive program where you will pay 0% Interest for 36 Months. That means no extra money needs to be put forth because you’re financing.
You’ll pay 36 equal monthly payments, and when you pay off the entire amount, you’ll pay zero interest on your purchase. So, the same upfront amount, but you were able to pay for it on your schedule instead of in one lump sum.
And best of all, when you use Synchrony to finance your purchase from December 6th to December 18th, you’ll get 0% Interest for 60 Months on purchases of just $2,999. It’s a fantastic opportunity to make your purchase and get gifts in time for the holidays without having to put up the entire amount right away.
You can really use this to your advantage when you have most of the money in hand and want to complete your holiday purchase with an upgrade to the best model. This way, you’ll be sure to pay off the balance in the 60 months, when you purchase during the promo period, and you’ll know that you will get the best gifts for your loved ones without having to wait and try to save more, which doesn’t always work because as we all know “life happens,” especially during the holidays.
When you’re using financing, the qualifying purchase amount needs to be on a single receipt. That means every item you are purchasing is done so in one transaction, which makes sense really. It would be very hard to finance two receipts for the same rate at the same time.
This type of financing is also on new items. For example, if you’re looking at the open box model of a mattress, you can’t use financing on that. The idea is that this is designed to help you gift a brand new item and receiving a promotional discount on an older item is its own special situation.
Additionally, the purchase APR is 29.99% with a minimum interest charge of $2 if you don’t complete the payments in the 60 months.
So, as you can see there are terms to understand and consider, however, that doesn’t mean that financing is a bad idea, only that you need to be aware of how it works and ensure that you make all the payments on time. Another good thing is that there’s no penalty if you pay it off early.
This is a wonderful time of the year when family comes together. When you want to give the gift that can really improve a person’s everyday life, we are here to help. We understand that these types of purchases can pack a punch, so we want to help you make this as simple and straightforward as possible. Don’t waste money on low-end products that won’t last you when there is an option to take home high-quality options with a pay-as-you-go schedule.

]]>Whether you’re living in an apartment, a smaller home, or you just really need more storage because your house currently lacks the appropriate space, hybrid furniture that pulls double duty is a fantastic addition to any home.
Here, we’ll go through some options that will add storage while still providing a stylish piece of furniture for your bedroom, living room, or any place extra space is needed.
Popup Coffee Tables- If you’ll be entertaining guests or if you want to have a meal on the couch, a popup coffee table will really make it more comfortable. Most coffee tables like this feature a top that lifts up on hinges so that whatever is on the surface is closer to the person on the couch. This can prevent spills and can even be great if you’re reading or playing a board game.
Plus, these tables aren’t just great for a casual meal. They’ll also bring your laptop or tablet up to you to make it easier to work or type from the couch as well. Great for working at home.
For a very clean look, try out the Modern Glossy Lift Top Coffee Table from Coaster. This option also has internal storage for remotes, magazines, and whatever else you need to store in your living room right by your couch.
Storage Benches- These benches can be used for seating when you’ve got people over, and they’re also fantastic for stowing items like your games, blankets, pillows, etc. You can put them at the foot of your couch as an ottoman, at the wall or behind the couch, and so much more.
A great option for this is the Coaster Ottoman Tufted Storage Bench. It’s available in taupe, mocha, and dark navy fabric as well as dark brown leatherette here.
Dual-Purpose Occasional Tables- Occasional tables and coffee tables can be interchanged really nicely and both provide different options when it comes to storage.
When you’re thinking about using the table for entertaining, you might want to try out something like the Furniture of America Crystal Cove Occasional Table Set. It takes up very little space but provides a quick change to a table and stools when you’re entertaining. Perfect for cocktails and games.
Sofa Beds- These are a classic furniture item for several homes, but the classic versions of the past are no more. Now you’ll get beautiful looking furniture that also doubles as a sleeping surface. There are several styles available too.
If you’re looking for a modern finish, check out the Coaster Skyler Modern Sofa Bed with Button Tufting or the Coaster Cheyenne Modern Sofa Bed. These provide a very modern appeal while style folding open to provide a sleeping space.
If you’ll be using this in a guest room or office, you might want something a bit smaller like the Coaster Sofa Bed. This futon sofa bed comes in a cool grey and is perfect for overnight guests. There’s also the Coaster Faux Leather Convertible Sofa Bed with Removable Armrests that provides that slick leather look that suits a modern room.
There’s also a more traditional looking option available in the Coaster Grey Sofa Bed with Diamond Tufting. A beautiful choice, this one offers dark grey woven fabric, tufted seating and arms, kiln-dried hardwood frame, sinuous spring decking with high-density foam, and solid hardwood legs.
Storage Mirrors- The Coaster Jewelry Cheval Mirror with Interior Storage is a great option for the bedroom when you need to store your jewelry but don’t have dresser space to spare. The internal storage box is four inches deep and it’s available in several colors including a striking teal and various wood finishes.
Whether you have a lot to store in your bedroom or you have limited space, these options can be great solutions that still remain attractive. There’s also a plethora of storage beds that can take the place of a dresser when you have limited floor space or you don’t want to use a traditional dresser. A great option is the Artesia California King Platform Bed with Storage Footboard from Coaster. The Briana King Contemporary Storage Bed with Bookshelf is a really powerful option when you want a lot of storage and a special spot for your books for nighttime reading.
Hardworking Ottomans- Ottomans aren’t just for resting your feet anymore. You can use them as dual seating and a table surface, storage, and they look good in several rooms. When it’s replacing your coffee table, working in tandem with it, or adding a central focus to a sitting area in your bedroom, storage ottomans are amazing.
The Coaster Olson Rectangular Storage Ottoman could definitely work as either a coffee table and footrest or be placed at the end of a couch to elongate it where you still use a coffee table.
If you really want to kick the traditional coffee table and lean into the ottoman feel, both the Coaster Contemporary Faux Leather Storage Ottoman with Reversible Trays and the Homelegance Kaitlyn Cocktail Ottoman fill that void perfectly. They have a wonderfully clean look thanks to the leatherette and offer trays for drinks. The Kaitlyn ottoman is also available in microfiber.
Bookcases and Cabinets- Bookcases are always a good addition to any room which can provide space for decorative pieces but also use storage bins to offer needed homes for smaller items. Additionally, getting a console table with storage or putting a low cabinet at the back of your couch can add storage.
One of our favorites is the Coaster Swivel Cabinet with Storage Shelves, Cork Board, and Mirror. With so much in such a small piece, this item packs a serious punch when it comes to doing several jobs at once. It works well in a living room near the kitchen, a bedroom, or even an office.
When you’re looking at console tables the Coaster Two Drawer Sofa Table with Shelf offers storage and has a lower section when you can place taller items such as large books, decor, etc.
When you’re looking for Double Duty Furniture this is the place to find it. Keep an eye out at the Coaster, Furniture of America, and Universal Collections to see the newest offerings in storage furniture.
]]>Color lovers, it’s your time to shine. Deep cobalts, magentas, crimsons, and golden yellows. You’ll find these hot hues on walls, ceilings, furniture, tile, appliances, and even your door!
Vibrant colors are connected with excitement, energy, and optimism. They can refresh a space and make a big statement even when used as few touches.
Be brave. Go bold.
When you’re looking for inspiration to break free from your comfort zone and paint the town, or your house as it were, we’ve got a few ideas that can help you make the most of magnificent color.
Your front door is one of the very first things people see when they visit your home. What does your door say? Is the glimpse people see of you plain or exciting? If you’re looking to show off a pop of color, compliment the rest of your home and show everyone who walks up just how much pizazz you have to offer.
The ceiling is sort of your fifth wall and you can paint it up to another level of shocking color, relax under cooling blue, or even paint a design. Putting a bit of color on the ceiling can be an interesting twist and give you the chance to add some color in a very simple way. After all, all you need is paint.
And of course, you can always put that vibrant hue on an accent wall. It’s a great way to try out this trend without going all-in with an entire full room painting session. Or, you can be like me and choose a vibrant color for each wall of the room. My kitchen is red with my connected living room sharing navy and turquoise walls. It may sound like a lot, but together they help to create distinct areas in my open floor plan.
Bringing in pops of color with furniture, textiles, rugs, flowers, and accessories are incredible ways to make the space come alive. It’s a tried and true favorite for any home decor maven, and here at LasVegasFurnitureOnline.Com, we have several offerings that can add that special pop!
Here are a few of our customer faves.
Give tradition a twist and do traditional-mod with color! Or add a bit of spice to your minimalism where color can act as your exclamation point. A modern and very vibrant set is the Coaster Los Feliz Red Contemporary Dining Chair, which makes for a bright shock of color in any modern dining room.
The Furniture of America Madelyn Sofa is also a fantastic modern-contemporary piece. It’s teal color and sleek straight lines would complement a clean-lined room well. The sofa is also available in an olive green color.
You could even go with the Coaster Samuel Contemporary Leather Sofa or Loveseat which is a striking red. This unique sofa actually comes as part of a full living room set, so you could up the red to epic levels.
If you’re just looking for a single item with an extra pop, try out the Coaster Accent Seating Swivel Leisure Chair in orange-red. The smooth, bucket-like seat is a nice modern accompaniment to an ultra-contemporary, chrome-loving room.
If you’re really digging the modern, not utility shy items, try out the Coaster 10296 Adjustable Modern Dining Chair in either striking lime green or deep teal.
If you’re feeling less of a modern look is more your style, you should definitely take a look at the Coaster Accent Seating Accent Chair in Autumn Leaves. The beautiful autumn colors can add a lovely layer of both color and pattern. The oranges would look fantastic placed against a similarly colored accent wall in either deep red or yellow. It’d look perfect in either a living room or office/library.
The Coaster 903370 Winged Accent Chair with Curving Arms and Backrest is also another great option for a more curving, sweeping look in a lovely teal. It would look lovely in a living room, as a bedroom accent, or anywhere else you need a comfy colorful seat.
If your style is more transitional or a combination of both modern and traditional, you’d like the Coaster Accent Seating Orange Accent Chair with Contemporary Furniture Style. It is a gorgeous deep orange and with the simple lines but plush feel, it would look good in either type of design.
The Coaster 10795 Upholstered Dining Chair with Tapering Legs is a fantastic option for a blended dining room and the striking green would pop against a darker wall and floor. Whether you want to create an upscale area and lean into the velvet look or you want to create a simple, sleek feel, this chair would look great.
For an equally flexible item, check out the Coaster Accent Seating Contemporary Styled Accent Swivel Chair. This deep red chair would look great as the single colored item in the room or as red pop against a turquoise or blue wall. Its rounded shape doesn’t put it squarely in the modern or contemporary scene and could be used in more traditional or even potentially a bohemian-style room.
If you’re ready to go all-in on bold decor, we have some great pieces to get you going. And don’t forget, that you can always layer the above trends to create a look of your own.
Invigorating bright pink walls, red upholstered chairs, and colorful contemporary art you can do it all. The best thing about trying something new is that you can experience the thrill of seeing your home in a whole new way. Take the chance on color and you’ll find that it can both relax and stimulate you.
If you’re still hesitating, try out just bringing in one of the colorful options above and seeing how it works in your decor.

]]>You do your best to keep up your self-care routine, but trying to create a spa-like atmosphere in a room that’s seen better days can be extremely challenging.
Eat balanced meals. Read books. Stretch. Take care of your body. While they may seem mundane, it’s very important to do these things regularly and with reverence so that you can feel whole each morning you wake up.
Ever hear the adage “You can’t pour from an empty cup?” It’s true. If you’re drained and barely scraping by, how exactly are you supposed to offer care and support to other people?
Self-care isn’t selfish. It helps to recharge a person and give them the fuel they need to perform everyday tasks and deal with emergencies. If you can devote just one day a week to self-care, maybe even just half of the day, you’ll be better off. But trust me, I get it. Finding time to have time for yourself can be hard. We all have things that take up our time, jobs, kids, fur babies, life-sustaining hobbies (although taking time for that last one is part of self-care), etc.
You might think that a day off would be better spent doing something more productive than taking care of yourself, but this just isn’t the case.
You will burn out if you burn the candle at both ends and take no time to rest. You can’t pretend like you’re a superhero who doesn’t have human needs. So, take care of yourself before that burnout happens. Make time for this care and everyone in your life will be thrilled with the results.
Even with fragrant lotions, rose petal baths, and the warm glow of candles, making your bedroom and bathroom into your private spa can make or break how well you’re able to truly relax.
Crystal healer and interior designer Rashia Bell says, “A bedroom is a place where you allow yourself to recharge and reboot. It is a part of your self-care routine in that it’s a space for the rituals that you use to inspire and kick off your day, or in the evening to feel gratitude for the things you accomplished. The bedroom is a great place to really unabashedly give yourself what you need.“
Bell and her partner Elizabeth Kohn, the founders of The Cristalline, know how to turn any bedroom into a high-vibe sanctuary. They say it’s crucial to make your bedroom all about you.
Bedrooms are sacred spaces. They’re the spot you go to recharge and take a break from the world, so make them reflect you to the nth degree. If you want to make it look completely different than the rest of your home, go for it. If you want to fill it with knick-knacks that mean the world to you and make you smile, go for it.
It can really kill the stress-relieving mood when you sit down to enjoy a nighttime ritual and can’t find anything. Keep your dresser and vanity surfaces organized to ensure that everything is streamlined so that you can find everything you need for that relaxing beauty routine.
Keeping the main surface clear will also help if you’ll need it for something. You won’t have to move things around to make space. Bell also noted that grouping similar objects together is the most visually appealing.
If you’re looking for more storage for your bedroom, take a look at the Coaster Sandy Beach Door Dresser. It offers a concealed storage area with shelves and drawers inside the unit. The top drawer is also felt-lined for valuable items such as jewelry.
You might also like the Glossy Cappuccino Vanity with Hidden Mirror Storage and Lift-Top Stool. This vanity offers storage upon storage, making it easy to keep your surfaces clear and items easy to find.
Now that your care station is looking fine, take this time to take care of your skin. Exfoliate. Use a face mask. Apply specialty serums. If you’ve always wanted to try a proper shave, now’s the time. Steam your skin, use a premium shaving cream, and reap the benefits.
If you’re feeling especially extra, give yourself a full-on makeover. Check out some YouTube videos and create a fun look and a feel-good sense of accomplishment. Messed up? You have time, just clean up and try again.
Mood lighting is crucial. Whether you’re trying to keep it dim and relaxing in the evening or bright and airy in the morning. Lights on dimmers, several smaller lamps, and natural light options will serve you the best. Having control over the lighting will help to create different moods at different times.
You might like this Mercury Glass Table Lamp that provides a calming look on a nightstand or this unique Table Lamp with an Industrial Edison Bulb design. The light it provides is dimmer and warm. Perfect for a cozy evening in.
And let’s not forget our good old fave, lighting candles. The soothing light they provide is typically paired with a fantastic scent, and they are go-to’s for creating an incredible mood. If you’re concerned about the flame, you can try the electric candles that replicate the flickering of the original and scent the room through essential oils.
Your feet deserve to feel the love too. Plus, stepping down on a cold floor can startle you out of your state of relaxation and bliss. Since heavy traffic isn’t as big of a concern, try out fluffier, softer rugs that will feel great on your bare feet when you wake up or curl up in bed for the evening.
If you’ve always loved the idea of stepping out of bed onto a faux fur rug, do it.
Your bedroom is a great place to create a special spot, perhaps an altar, that represents you. If you’re not familiar with this and it seems strange, just think of it this way. This is your special areas dedicated to things that make you happy and feel recharged. Looking at a collection of momentos or chilling out in a corner you’ve backed with pillows is your special place.
When you wake up in the morning you want to be greeted with happy things that are meaningful. That way you’ll wake up inspired each day. Plus, in the evening it becomes the perfect place to de-stress and let go of things that might be worrying you.
If you’re looking for some inspiration, try creating a special area by setting up the Coaster Accent Seating Microfiber Chaise Lounge near a window with an end table and extra pillows. You can put photos you love there, have your favorite book always handy, and light a beautifully scented candle whenever you’re going there to read or relax.
When you’re enjoying your new special spot, sip on some tea. It’s full of antioxidants, low on caffeine, and the warmth you get from holding the mug can be incredibly relaxing. Then, get really into your happy place by pulling out a funny book. It’ll take you out of your head and into a great experience. Try out something like Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Nothing is funnier than watching two inept angels dealing with the end of the world, and it certainly makes your day seem far less stressful.
If you looking for a good place for a stretch, this can also be your special spot. If you swap the chaise for a yoga mat, this can be the perfect place for you to stretch, move, and replace any anxiety with good vibes. Through on some meditation music or classical and you’ll be so soothed stress won’t stand a chance.
Imagine your perfect relaxation experience. Does it include worry about your job-related responsibilities? No. So, don’t let that work clutter invade your private space. Don’t keep work papers or devices in the bedroom. If your laptop is used predominately for work, it needs a new home. Got a book your reading for work? Don’t do that in your room. This is a work-free zone.
Devices are often an issue for this because we need our phones, but use “do not disturb” and silent as much as you can. On your self-care days, it’s okay to scroll on your phone, but you might also like to set the thing down and catch up on Netflix shows. Binge some TV with a face mask on and don’t bother getting dressed. It can be just what you need.
With your bedroom looking beautiful and ready for your self-care routine, you can get started on showering yourself in some much-needed love right now! Go and enjoy your perfect self-care day and never forget that each and every one of us deserves some time that’s just for us.
How do you like to practice self-care?
]]>Some stress is unavoidable, unfortunately. However, making sure that your house is a place you can come to for relaxation and calm can help you combat with life’s daily stress. Plus, too much stress can have adverse effects on both your physical and mental health, possibly causing:
When you’re overly stressed, you can’t operate at your best, and it can interfere with healthy coping mechanisms. As an anxiety sufferer, I can tell you that being able to come home to a relaxing space is extremely helpful.
While you can’t completely eliminate stress from your life, if you get stressed easily or have a stressful job, it’s crucial to make sure your home is a sanctuary where you can retreat and recharge at the end of your hectic day.
Here’s how you can work to make your house the ultimate stress-free zone.
Finding the time let alone the space to just be can be tricky, but it offers a huge benefit. Find a room, nook, or even just a chair in your home which you can dedicate to relaxation. Pop in a cozy blanket, a candle, and make that the spot to go when you need a break. This is the special area where you can curl up there with a cup of tea and a good book.
Want to make your own special place? Put this Coaster Mid-Century Modern Accent Chair near a window, grab your Anchor Weighted Blanket designed to reduce stress, and chill out.
It can make your home less than inviting if you are constantly surrounded by clutter. Clean it up. Be ruthless and ditch anything you don’t use or don’t like. Donate unneeded things to charity, sell them on eBay or Craigslist, or simply toss them.
Not only is natural light important for regulating your internal clock and getting adequate sleep, but it’s also important for your mental health. In fact, lack of light during the winter in several countries can even cause a type of depression called Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). If your home is dark and gloomy, it can make stress and depression worse. If you’re like me, you like it dark when you’re sleeping, but when you’re not be sure to open up those curtains and blinds to let the light in. You can also use lightbulbs that emulate daylight.
Spending time outdoors, which we talked about here, is extremely beneficial for your health and mood. Additionally, bring the outside in by scattering some potted plants around and showcasing artwork or photography of landscapes and nature. Research has shown that just looking at a beautiful picture of nature can lower your stress.
If you’re looking for a good place to put your plants near your cozy corner, try out the Coaster Round Plant Stand Table with a bottom shelf. It’s nice and small so it won’t lend itself to clutter, and it’ll give you a spot for your tea too.
Often, our homes are stuffed to the brim with tech – televisions, pcs, cell phones, and other gadgets. This technology is designed to make life easier, but sometimes it can cause more harm than good, particularly when it comes to social media. Unplugging your devices at night and turning off your phone, or at least putting it on Do Not Disturb, not only saves money but also boosts calm and concentration.
When you’re painting or choosing bedding or table linens, you might want to consider what the color is doing to your mood. Sometimes, very bright colors like red or orange can excite you too much. They might be better for a kitchen or dining room instead of your bedroom. You might want to try cool, soothing colors like grey, blue, or green in your home. However, it’s all about what makes you feel calm. Maybe looking at a very neutral wall drives you nuts. Whatever gives you that “ahh” feeling when you look at it should be the color you decorate with.
For a hit of that calming blue, check out the Shaywood Modern Sofa Bed.
Essential oils not only make your house smell great, but they can also help you to feel less stressed. Lavender, frankincense, chamomile, and sandalwood help to ease anxiety and even help you sleep. Feeling down or have low energy, try a citrus or peppermint scent to perk you up. There are even scents that can ease headaches and stomach upsets.
Watching fish swim is very relaxing and can help you zen out. There’s a reason they’re popular at doctors’ offices. A study looked at a US aquarium and saw that those participants’ heart rate and blood pressure went down as more fish were added to the tank.
Where are your keys? Who moved your shoes? Now, you need your purse or wallet. Scrambling to get everything you need to leave the house can be super stressful. A small console table at your entrance with a catch-all dish can fix this. You can even get a basket for mail and hang hooks for your hat and jackets. You’ll feel more organized and getting out the door will be a lot easier.
Check out this Antique Blue Accent Table with drawers for all your little items. It would be perfect at the entrance where it would provide that perfect landing station without taking up too much space.
Start the day off on the right foot to boost your overall mood by completing an easy task that you can achieve no matter what – making your bed. Like we talked about clutter, creating a fresh, clean space by making your bed will help you to feel calm and prepared for the day ahead.
Likewise, nobody likes waking up to the mess they left the previous night. So, wipe down surfaces and put the dishes in the dishwasher before you go to bed. then go take a warm bath and sleep easy.
If you’re struggling with stress, anxiety, or depression, professional counseling can help. It can teach you coping mechanisms and how you can minimize the effects of stress on your health and daily life. Book an appointment with a professional. There is nothing to be ashamed of and getting help before it gets worse can do more than save your stress-levels.
There you have it! If you have any questions about our offerings, you can contact us over the phone or reach out through email at info@lasvegasfurnitureonline.com. And don’t forget, we offer financing that can help you create your calming home. Talk about stress-relieving.

]]>Trends come around again and again. It seems like even the most outrageous trends find a way of becoming popular once again. Memphis design is an illustration of how a movement that would’ve seemed ridiculous in the early 2000s, but is now coming back in style with some modern updates.
The Memphis Movement was a design trend that began in 1981. While the name might suggest a connection to Tennesse, it got its start in Milan, Italy. Ettore Sottsass founded the Memphis Group with a team of fellow designers and architects, taking their name from a Bob Dylan song titled “Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again,” which played on repeat during their initial meeting.
Memphis sought to go against minimalism where everything was about structure and straight lines. Sottsass focused the group’s thinking around the “radical, funny, and outrageous.” The group was inspired by geometric figures of Art Deco, the color palette of Pop Art, and 1950s kitsch inspired.
While the style was commercially rejected, it attracted a cult following. Designer Karl Lagerfeld bought all of Sottsass’ first collection, and David Bowie’s collected more than 400 pieces since the ’80s. It even made an appearance in pop culture shows like Saved by the Bell and Pee-wee’s Playhouse.
Memphis design started to circle back around in 2005-6. The LACMA exhibited a survey of Sottsass’ designs just a year before he passed. In 2014, Nathalie Du Pasquier, a founding member of the group, designed patterns for American Apparel.
Designer Camille Walala is a contemporary representative of everything the Memphis design aesthetic stands for. She has worked with artists like Katy Perry and brands like Urban Outfitters. More about her and her "Walala In Da House" exhibition in this Fast Company article.
Upholstery and textile design company Atelier Kobalt released Memphis-inspired textile designs for their Summer '15 collection. And Aldo's 2015 Holiday installation, designed by Leta Sobierajski, showcased the style.
When it comes to interior design for the current day, Memphis-style accents are being paired with straightforward modern basics. You’ll see predominantly black and white, contemporary couches and tables with splashes Memphis in the pillows, wall colors, and even decals.
Check out this Memphis Design-inspired wall decals from Etsy shop BeePart that capitalize on the Squiggles.
And these decals from Bridget Britt Designs that showcase some of those classic Memphis shapes and colors.
You’ll even find planters like this one from Kailo Chic that add that pop of color and shape that you want.
Original Memphis Group pieces are collectibles and most of us can’t get our hands on them. But, the squiggles, bright colors, and wacky shapes still live on thanks to contemporary designers.
Plus, you can pair contemporary pieces found right here with pops of color to create that Memphis look you want. For example, check out this Furniture of America Ninove Three-Piece Occasional Table Set. It offers the curves and twists any Memphis fan will love and with a few brightly colored items perched on top, you’ll be well on your way to reclaiming that 80s feel.
To incorporate those twists and curves into your furniture, try out items like the Coaster Barzini "Mermaid" Black Dining Side Chair, the Furniture of America Lodia or Sansa Occasional Table Sets, and the Coaster Modern Bar Stool.
There’s even this Coaster X-Shaped Contemporary Bar that offers that unique change to traditional shapes. Again, pair it will some brightly colored accessories and hang a wacky print behind it and you have the perfect modern Memphis-inspired look.
If you’re really looking to live it up in color land, the Furniture of America Madelyn Sofa is available in a striking teal that you can pair with some crazy pillows made with vintage Memphis fabrics.
This trend might be right up your alley and there are definitely ways to make it work in the modern world. Try it out. The sky’s the limit when it comes to the Memphis Movement.

]]>When you’re making an investment in something like a mattress, it pays to get the best possible option for your needs. You don’t want to be uncomfortable, leading to a possible return, and you don’t want to have it break down on you after a few years. In addition, you’ve probably saved up for this and you want the best you can afford.
Well, what if the best you could afford was a lot more?
That’s where financing can help you. This option allows you to make your purchase, pay on your schedule, and ensure that you got everything you needed and wanted without breaking your bank.
How’s that possible?
It’s possible when you use Synchrony Financing with 0% interest.
Synchrony offers an exclusive program where you pay 0% Interest for 36 Months on purchases of at least $2495.
What does that mean?
That means that when you pay 36 equal monthly payments and pay off the entire amount, you’ll pay zero interest on your purchase, so the same upfront amount, but you were able to pay for it as you go instead of in one big sum.
You can really use this to your advantage when you have most of the money in hand and want to complete your mattress purchase with an adjustable base. This way, you’ll be sure to pay off the balance in the 36 months, and you’ll be ensuring that you get the best night of sleep possible without having to wait and try to save more, which doesn’t always work because as we all know “life happens.”
You deserve to have the perfect bedroom set up and financing options are designed to help. They do come with some stipulations, so let’s cover them now.
When you’re using financing, the qualifying purchase amount must be on one receipt. That means every item you want has to be on one ticket, which makes sense really. It would be very hard to finance two receipts for the same rate and time.
This type of financing is also on new, non-sale items. For example, if you’re looking at the open box model of a mattress, you can’t use financing on that. The idea is that this is designed to help you take home a brand new item and getting a promotional discount on an older item is its own special purchase.
Additionally, the purchase APR is 29.99% with a minimum interest charge is $2 if you don’t complete the payments in the 36 months.
So, as you can see there are terms you need to be aware of. That doesn’t mean that financing is a bad idea, you just need to understand how it works and make sure that you make all the payments you need to. Plus, there’s no penalty if you pay it off early.
If you’re looking to purchase a new mattress and you run hot, we suggest the Tempur LuxeBreeze. Now, you’ve decided you love that mattress, you have a queen, and you were just going to pop it into your existing frame. But what if you could bundle it with an adjustable base? That item you’ve been looking at for a while.
You can, and financing makes it easy. If you decided you wanted to go with the Tempur Ergo Extend in a queen, that’s $6,198. Not bad, but if you finance it with Synchrony it’s only $173 a month for 36 months, and you aren’t going to pay more than that original amount because you’ll be paying 0% interest.
What’s more, if you saved up a bit for your new mattress, you can put that money down and reduce your payment size or pay it off quicker.
That’s the beauty of financing.
Have a peek.
If you have a smaller ticket item(s) and think you can pay of the balance in a shorter time, you can apply for 0% interest for 12 months.
For purchases of $299 or more, you can also receive the zero percent option, however, you must make the payments within the 12-month time frame. If you aren’t able to interest will be charged from the date of purchase.
This option holds the similar stipulations as mentioned with one big difference, the 0% for 12 months can be applied to price matched items, open box models, in-cart discounts, coupon codes, and Facebook offers.
This is where having good credit and understanding what you can afford each month can really help you. You can purchase an open box model of a fantastic mattress, finance it for 12 months, and you’ll be good to go!
Mattresses, adjustable bases, and quality linens are big investments, but they don’t have to wipe out all your savings at once. When you use it correctly and make sure you understand it, financing can help you to create a bedroom oasis where you fall asleep easy every night.
Trust us, a good night’s sleep is invaluable, and you’ll be so glad you took the time and made the commitment to make yours as restful as possible.
If you have any questions about financing, mattresses, or anything else on our site, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to work with you, not against you. You can contact us over the phone or through email at info@lasvegasfurnitureonline.com
]]>If you or your child has autism, anxiety or sensory processing disorder, PTSD, unrelenting stress, or other mental health conditions that make you feel depressed or anxious, a weighted blanket can help manage the symptoms. In fact, these blankets have even been recommended by doctors and occupational therapists.
Weighted blankets were designed to replicate the benefits of deep touch pressure therapy, and research has shown that they ease anxiety, boost oxytocin in the brain, and help people with sensory processing disorders feel more relaxed.
These blankets have become more and more popular with a huge hype surrounding them and retailers everywhere starting to carry them, including us. What can they really do?
Let’s dig in.
A weighted blanket looks just like a regular blanket, the secret’s in the inside. In fact, the Malouf Anchor Blankets we’ll be carrying look incredible and they are so soft.
Unlike a regular blanket, however, a weighted blanket is filled with beads or pellets that provide the extra weight. In most constructions, the filler is sewn into self-contained pockets that are evenly distributed across the surface of the blanket.
Some blankets have pockets from about six to eight inches, while some provide smaller pockets of four inches. This can be preferable because it is better at keeping the weight evenly distributed. Most blankets are provided in a few different weights and sizes. These are designed for use by one person too. So, you’re not looking for a blanket that covers your whole bed but your whole person.
Snuggling up under a blanket is often a soothing activity for anyone. You might even have a favorite blanket or had one as a child. Feeling warm and cozy under a blanket feels good.
Weighted blankets take the benefits of a regular blanket and combine it with a therapy tool. Originally developed by autism researcher, Temple Grandin, Dr. Grandin observed cows being led through a compression device created to hold them in place for their vaccinations. She remarked that the cows were calmer and more docile as the machine squeezed them.
Dr. Grandin is on the autism spectrum herself and remembered how being hugged as a child frequently eased her anxiety and sensory processing disorder. However, she also recognized that on some occasions, hugging had irritated or frightened her. She was curious if there was a way to help people with autism and sensory processing disorders get the benefits of a hug without feeling confined.
Taking notes from the farm, she developed a squeeze machine or hug machine, a therapy tool that applies firm but gentle pressure throughout the body. Like a hug, it stimulates the release of oxytocin, a happiness hormone.
Choosing the right weight for a weighted blanket is the most important step. Thankfully, it’s very simple. A blanket should be approximately 10-12% of your body weight, within a pound or two. If you weight about 150 pounds you’d want a 15-pound blanket. If you’re 200 pounds, a 20-pound blanket will work nicely.
We now know that hugging and contact important for all people and helps us to release oxytocin. Oxytocin is an important neurotransmitter which assists us to feel relaxed, calm, and generally happy. Christopher Bergland at Psychology Today stated that “Oxytocin is a hormone directly linked to human bonding and increasing trust and loyalty.” In fact, we know that it is released when we snuggle, when we’re intimate with each other, and during breastfeeding.
This information has been used to create deep touch pressure therapy, which has been shown to increase oxytocin in people with autism, anxiety, and sensory processing disorder.
However, those with a sensory processing disorder can feel anxiety, unsettled, and even experience pain because of tactile sensitivity. Those with sensory processing disorder or autism can’t always tolerate hugging or cuddling.
This is where a weighted blanket can be beneficial. By employing firm but gentle pressure, a weighted blanket presents the same benefits of a hug without having the user receive unwelcome or unpleasant body contact from another person.
Weighted blankets have been beneficial for those with sensory processing disorder and related conditions like autism, anxiety, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). However, they can help with several health issues, including those things that nearly everyone has had to deal with at some point.
Deep touch pressure therapy promotes the release of oxytocin, making it useful for treating anxiety, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, and fibromyalgia.
Here are the Top 10 Weighted Blanket Facts:
Sensory processing disorder comes in two forms- hypersensitive or hyposensitive. Hypersensitive, or oversensitive, people are overly sensitive to stimuli and can become overwhelmed by noise, crowds, or touching.
Hyposensitive people can have trouble sensing noises, touch, and other stimuli. In some cases, people with under sensitivity also have a very high pain tolerance.
Hypersensitive people can enjoy a weighted blanket because it is an object and not a person and easy to control the effect. You can control how much or how little touch you experience and where you feel you can tolerate pressure. Hyposensitive people will appreciate that they have an object that provides the firm, gentle pressure they want on demand.
Dr. Temple Grandin stated that “Deep touch pressure [...] is exerted in most types of firm touching, holding, stroking, petting of animals, or swaddling… Autistic children will often seek out deep pressure sensations.”
A weighted blanket mimics this therapy, which can assist to calm those with autism.
There are roughly 40 million anxiety sufferers in America, making it one of the most prevalent mental illnesses in the nation. According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), anxiety is very treatable. However, they also report that only 36.9% of sufferers get the treatment they require.
Anxiety makes everyday life extremely difficult, and it can make sleeping especially troublesome. A study looked at the vital signs of adults using weighted blankets and found that 63% of participants said they felt less anxious while using them.
The study also recorded a 33% drop in electrodermal activity, which is a response generated by the sweat glands frequently in response to stress. Those with anxiety often feel “exposed” when laying prone and a weighted blanket can help to ease stress and finally get a good night’s sleep.
As an anxiety sufferer myself, I love the feeling of the weighted blanket when I’m going to bed.
Temple University Researchers found that 95% of ADHD participants in a study improved when they received sensory intervention. The interventions included deep pressure touch and differing strenuous exercise. One researcher stated, “We found significant improvement in sensory avoiding behaviors, tactile sensitivity, and visual-auditory sensitivity in the group that received treatment.”
If you’re presenting using deep pressure touch therapy, using a weighted blanket could continue to provide you with the benefits at home whenever you need.
Most Americans don’t get enough sleep. In fact, the National Sleep Foundation stated that 45% of people regularly get “poor or insufficient sleep.” According to the Sleep Health Foundation, a third of adults suffer from insomnia.
Scientific research indicates that deep touch pressure can create a calm, peaceful feeling that minimizes insomnia. In Occupational Therapy in Mental Health, 78% of participants in a weighted blanket study reported that employing a 30-pound weighted blanket made them feel calmer.
Restless leg syndrome causes people to experience frequent, sometimes constant uncomfortable sensations in the legs that can keep them awake. It’s described several ways, including “pins and needles” and “creepy crawly.”
Worst of all, the only way to feel some semblance of relief is to move your legs — hence the name. When symptoms occur at night, which is very often, people can spend hours tossing and turning.
Weighted blankets can help to ease symptoms by applying steady, even pressure around the legs. And thanks to those oxytocin benefits, those with restless leg may also feel calmer and less anxious, which encourages better, more restful sleep.
Fibromyalgia is often misunderstood and misdiagnosed chronic pain disorder. There is a range of symptoms, like comprehensive pain and increased sensitivity on at least 11 of the 18 pain points throughout the body.
People can go years, even decades, without proper treatment. There are roughly 5 million fibromyalgia sufferers in America, but experts say there are probably several more who still aren’t diagnosed.
A therapy shown to help ease symptoms is myofascial release, which uses movements of firm but gentle pressure over the fibromyalgia pain points. Weighted blankets can mimic this pressure.
People don’t want their things to look medical or poorly made. They want beautiful items that also provide the benefits they’re looking for. That’s where the new models of weighted blankets are rising to the challenge.
They’re being made with premium materials and look beautiful. The Malouf Anchor Blanket combines luxury finishes with the proven science we’ve discussed to provide the grounded, calm feeling these blankets are known for.
The Anchor Weighted Blanket is also available in two sizes and three weights per size. A throw size that comfortably covers one sleeper, and a Queen that can cover two. However, you can certainly get the Queen and use it as a single person.
The benefits of massage are many and massage chairs allow you to bring those benefits right into your home where you can access them on your schedule. When you’re looking for a calm, de-stressing experience from your massage, top it off with a weighted blanket.
You’ll be increasing the oxytocin-generating effects and providing yourself with the utmost in relaxation when you have a set time frame that you can devote to getting a massage. If you’ve only got 15 minutes, this helps you to make the most of them.
Everyone experiences sleep issues at some point in their lives. It’s, unfortunately, a common fact about being human. Another fact, however, is that we need regular, high-quality sleep to perform at our best.
A weighted blanket can help you to increase the number of good sleep nights and keep any insomnia or nighttime restless at bay. Including a weighted blanket in your nighttime routine and environment can make it easier for you to fall asleep and stay asleep.
Imagine climbing into bed with a hot cup of chamomile tea, dimming the lights, and wrapping up in a weighted blanket in your blissfully cool room. Now that sounds like the perfect way to wind down.

]]>This past week was an incredible whirlwind and LasVegasFurnitureOnline.Com saw a fantastic array of new products showcased at the World Market Center.
As a retailer, we’re always looking to keep our product lines fresh, and that’s especially true right now. So, we went to the Market with the goal of finding a few products to add to the site so that we could revamp our categories and selection, giving you our customers more options and a better selection.
We came out with way more than a few!
One of the big things we’re always looking for is what is the latest technology being introduced in mattresses and adjustable bases. We saw so much, but one of the themes that was represented the most was the tilt feature in adjustable bases.
So many people side on their sides or stomachs. In fact, the majority of people are side sleepers. While adjustable bases do make laying on your back more comfortable, many of us can’t get over the urge to roll onto our sides. This is where the tilt feature comes into play.
This feature allows you to raise the entire bed to an angle. By doing this, you avoid crunching in the middle and make laying elevated while on your side or stomach possible. Glideaway has showcased the Elevate for a long while, but now companies like Leggett & Platt, Reverie, and even smaller vendors like a favorite from Market, Ergo Pedic, are seeing the value in creating tilting adjustable bases.
Another big trend is making sure those bases are platform compatible. Many of us are verging away from traditional bed frames into platforms and more so platforms with storage. These make it a bit difficult when you want a traditional adjustable. However, with platform-friendly bases, you can set your adjustable right on top and be good to go.
A company that LasVegasFurnitureOnline.Com is going to carry soon also wowed us at Market. They are Malouf. A long-standing brand with many a fan, Malouf started in sheets and has grown exponentially from there.
We’re going to be carrying the full range of products from them including incredible “dough” pillows that feel fantastic and come in a variety of tailored lines.
There are cooling, carbon pillows, aromatherapy pillows, and special pillows designed for side sleepers with a shoulder cut out.
Needless to say between those and the tilting frames, this side sleeper was in heaven.
Additionally, another trend that we saw at Market were weighted blankets, and Malouf is hitting the market with these as well.
In fact, their line of weighted blankets have been out for just two weeks and they’re already selling like hotcakes.
I tried one myself and absolutely adored it.
Weighted blankets are designed to help with symptoms of anxiety, stress, PTSD, autism, and more. When using one it lowers your cortisol levels, the stress hormone, and increases your serotonin and oxytocin levels, feel-good hormones.
They come in two weights right now, the 15 and 20, and Malouf made sure to stitch the interior with care to ensure that the weight stays even through the entire blanket when being used.
We also looked at several wonderful children’s furniture brands, and there was some great stuff. Among our favorites were Donco Kids, which had really impressive kids’ bed systems that looked like houses, Night And Day Furniture, which had every type of bunk and trundle bed imaginable, including clever options that offered storage in the stair sections, and a line that we’ve carried before that has increased their offerings, Acme.
We’ve worked with Acme Furniture before and after our trip to the market, we’re very excited about the new options available in the kids’ section and within their Glam lineup.
It was a great trip (even if our feet are killing us), and we look forward to updating our collections and getting our customers the latest options in a variety of styles including traditional, rustic, and even super modern.
Keep an eye out for all the new products we’ll be featuring and sign up for our newsletter to ensure you don’t miss out on the upcoming product launches. It looks like here at LasVegasFurnitureOnline.Com 2019 will be closing out with a bang!
]]>Sleep experts say that the average adult needs seven to nine hours of sleep every night to stay healthy, and there are several ways to help improve your sleeping environment. We talked about some of them here.
Now, we’re going to talk about your bedroom itself and how to make sure it’s a welcoming oasis that you love to fall asleep in every night.
Here are a few tips on how to harness a good night’s sleep that you can do in a couple of hours on the weekend and reap the long-term benefits immediately:
1. First things first, clear your room of clutter. Stepping into your room for the night and seeing a pile of junk or dirty clothes is not relaxing. Make sure that your bedroom space is clean and tidy so that you can relax without having to avoid looking at the stack of clothes you’ve yet to put away.
2. Along those same lines, your bedroom needs to be off-limits to the chaos of daily activity. Invest in cabinets and dressers that allow you store (or hide) things that must go into the space and keep the rest out. Don’t use your room as a catch-all for the items you bring home each week.
3. When getting those important pieces like a dresser, remember not to crowd your bedroom with too many things. Take out any extra furniture or items, like an exercise bike, that shouldn’t be in there. Instead, create a reading or meditation spot in any open space of the room complete with a small chair and table, a lamp, and candles. You can even put up a screen or a room divider to create a sense of privacy and separation.
4. Remove or hide electronics. If you need your devices in your room, hide them and the end of the night so that you can keep the blue light to a minimum. Consider replacing your TV with a sound system so that you aren’t up in bed watching TV but instead listening to relaxing music. Small table lamps and dimmer switches will help to create a relaxed ambiance and cut down on the bright overhead light.
5. Bring in leafy, low-maintenance plants to create a tranquil atmosphere and naturally purify the air. You can even bring in fresh flowers once a week. A study found that office workers felt more relaxed when working near a vase of flowers. These natural elements will also help to create a spa-like feel and can help the room to smell fresh and clean.
6. When you really want to up your scent game, use essential oils. A number of scents are connected to reduced stress and there are several easy ways to incorporate them into your room. You can get a diffuser, whether its electronic or uses reeds. You can also find ceramic diffusers that look like little flowers. Another way is to buy or make potpourri. Or you could mix in a drop or two of your favorite oils into a spray bottle with water and use the scent as an air freshener. Bergamot, eucalyptus, chamomile, lavender, lemon, marjoram, neroli, orange, sandalwood, valerian, and ylang-ylang are all very relaxing scents.
8. Invest in Good Bedding. Our team of sleep experts can help you understand your unique needs and help you find the right mattress, bed frame, adjustable base, pillows, and mattress protectors for your life. We carry some of the top brands, like Tempur Sealy, and know that we can help you get the right bed to create the ideal sleep space. Additionally, your bedding will also include sheets, blankets, throws, and pillows that match the vibe of your room and create a tranquil experience. Choose soft, high-quality fabrics in color or patterns that you find calming or comforting that will be sure to stand the test of time.
9. You might also want to try out a couple of feng shui tips. Feng shui aims to achieve harmony between the physical and the spiritual. If you want to give this a shot, it’s suggested that you position your bed diagonally across the room from the door and so that when you lie in it, a window is at your right for positive energy. You’ll also want to keep desks and computers, along with any work-related energy, out of the bedroom.
10. One final touch. When you’re happy, you’ll sleep better. So, fill your walls with art that makes you smile and keeps the calm, centered vibe going. You can try for abstract pieces with patterns or solid colors. You can put up quotes or typography pieces that boost your mood. Whatever you like best. This is your personal space and it should reflect your personal style.
If you have any questions about mattresses or bedroom sets, we’re happy to help. Give us a call or contact us through info@lasvegasfurnitureonline.com.

]]>It’s that time. School is coming and some parents are going to have an empty nest for the first time. Your time to start a new chapter where you can be on your own as well is now. Many people in this position don’t want the upkeep of dealing with such a large house now that the kids are gone.
Moving to a smaller house can help with that.
You have time too. You don’t have to make a decision right this second but these tips and tricks can help you move to a new home with confidence.
And confidence is key!
Sorting and packing, getting ready to change locations, it’s definitely a big deal. But there are things you can do to make it easier. For one, baby steps.
Everything is done one step at a time. We build skyscrapers and even lives that way. To create space for new ideas and allow your next steps to make themselves known, you can start with decluttering.
A good place to start is to choose a room, just one, and go through the items there and divided them into three groups- stay, donate, trash. If you’re feeling stuck, focus on things you know need to go. Things you haven’t used in years, clothing that doesn’t fit, or furniture which is no longer useful or functional.
And remember, this isn’t a race. Everything in life is less stressful when you can go at a leisurely pace, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time before you need to actually vacate. Do this because you want to, not because you have to.
As a good universal rule, give yourself at least six months to decide what stays and what goes. You don’t need to go too fast or go overboard either. Be gentle with yourself and the emotions that might come up during cleaning.
Part of downsizing is, in fact, cutting down on the things you own. It can be hard of course but the truth is the memories will be there, and there are other, better ways to make sure you remember all the good times that aren’t holding onto your kids’ Halloween costumes.
Photo albums, one-of-a-kind antiques that have a place. Those can stay. Resumes and doodles from 1992 need to go.
It can feel really great too! A cathartic process that feels like a huge weight lifts off your shoulders. There will be places for new things now.
When you’ve cleared everything away, you might decide that your current house is the right fit for you. You might be thrilled to create a guest room or art studio. Or, you may decide that this much space really isn't’ something you want to take care of.
You might even decide to rent the space or make it an Air B’n’B! The sky’s the limit.
Downsizing isn’t decreased style, isn’t less than, isn’t settling. Remember you aren’t giving something up, you’re gaining something that works better for you.
You’re going to get something that’s more affordable, convenient, comfortable and more conscious of what you truly need to enjoy this next step in life.
There is no rule anywhere that says you have to do this alone. Get help. Hire a professional or bring in a very honest friend who can share you the error that is your collection of Hawaiian shirts and blazers with shoulder pads.
Remember to donate your items or sell them at a yard sale. If you have special items, you can put them up on Craigslist or eBay.
Also, you can make albums on Shutterfly and pack up the hard copies so that they don’t add to your clutter. Got any new neighbors or people moving in down the street with families, give them your exercise stuff or large toys. A new family will get the chance to love them as much as you did.
When you’re planning on living in a smaller space or really don’t want to add to the amount of stuff you have, consider upgrading to items that work double duty, like hidden storage ottomans or beds that double as dressers.

]]>Welcome to July! School season might seem like it’s a ways off, but when you need to set up your new college student for dorm or apartment living it’s a lot closer than you think.
When I was a college student, decorating my dorm and then my apartment helped to make them feel less like temporary living spaces and more like home. Sure you’ll still be leaving soon, but having your favorite furniture items travel with you makes it that much easier to get settled in when you’re hopping from place to place.
Whether it’s a residence hall or off-campus apartment, and even post-college, if you live in a small space, decorating on a budget is crucial. Whether it is yourself, your child, or your grandkid going off to college, back to school furniture and mattresses will be important things to shop for as soon as you can.
Below, I’ve rounded up dorm furnishings and decor ideas to help you send your college freshman, or yourself, off to school in style.
A good mattress properly fitted for the student will ensure that when they are sleeping, they’re getting a good night’s rest. We all know how essential our sleep when for maintaining energy and thought processes, so give your kid a leg up by finding them the best mattress.
If your child will be in the dorm, a standard Twin XL will be provided, but it won’t be the comfiest thing in the world. You can help them out a bit by shopping the Open Box models right here. We have quite a few Twins and Twin XLs that’ll be more than a step above what they’ll get from Student Housing.
If your child will be in an apartment, we also have several Queen mattresses available for budget-friendly open box prices, and still more yet if you want to buy new.
When you’re living on your own, your mattress might not be your greatest concern. But you’re doing yourself a disservice. Set yourself up for success with a high-quality mattress that will last you. Remember:
Always buy the largest and best quality mattress you can afford.
And parents, helping your student to get a good mattress will be a gift that will actually help them every day. You can even go in on it together and give them a dry-run of what adult life is really like. Just wait till they have to pick out insurance.
A student's work area is also important in helping them to achieve academic success. A practical and efficient study area which can hold everything they need will help to ensure they can focus.
Dorms can frequently provide desks, but if your student is moving on up to an apartment, they’ll definitely appreciate having a set space to do their work, instead of trying to study on the couch (though that may still happen).
There are several desks available that can work great in a variety of spaces, from the studio apartment to the three-bedroom. If you’re looking to stay within a very strict budget, look at the Coaster Contemporary Computer Desk with Keyboard Tray and Casters. It’s small enough to fit in even the tightest of spaces and can be moved around easily.
If your budget is a little more open, the Coaster Contemporary Computer Desk with Keyboard Tray and 2-Piece Desk Set with Rolling File Cabinet are both great options. While the Contemporary Computer Desk is of metal construction, it’s not bulky or oversized. And the 2-Piece Desk Set’s beautiful wood look and rolling cabinet are fantastic when you want a bit more space and storage.
We have a plethora of options that can suit any style, from traditional to ultra-modern. Check out desks here. There are also bookcases and other storage essentials that come in a variety of sizes.
And remember, just because you might be moving doesn’t mean that your furniture needs to be bland or boring. These things can travel with you (you’ll just have to bribe a few people into helping you with free pizza).
Key Tip: Plan out your shopping. Take measurements and use them to ensure everything you get will fit.
Make sure you check back often for our latest sales and promotions. You’ll be sure to find great deals as the summer winds down. Plus, you can also sign up for our newsletter so that you never miss a sale.
Furnishing your freshman’s dorm or even college senior's apartment with the best items will make each moment of this particularly challenging time more comfortable. Plus, if your student's current academic adventure means you’ll have empty space in your house, this might be the time to consider re-decorating other rooms.
So, congrats graduates and enrollees! You did it! (Now go study.)
]]>Home is where the heart is, whether that’s an apartment, a condo, a tract house, or a mansion. What’s more, your home is meant to showcase you, and that means that it does not have to be perfect. When we look at your home, we can see where you’ve been, your travels, experiences, and who you are.
Some of the most impactful decor elements that can showcase you and your style are the small little touches scattered through the space. These details pack a punch.
Let’s look at what you can do to up your home’s personality from floor to ceiling.
Windows let in light and that natural light can raise our moods and make the room feel alive. Using layers of curtains with darkening ones for privacy with sheers underneath can be a wonderful option to show off your tastes and keep the room airy and bright.
Remember that the patterns you use for the curtain can say a lot too. I have brightly colored curtains with several strips of different colors in them. They add the right Boho flair, and I’ve received several compliments.
If you have the chance to make your window bigger or replace them, that can also add the pop you want.
Curtain rods, tiebacks, valances. These can all add a unique flair when you choose the items carefully. Check out antique malls and thrift stores for neat little finds.
In most homes, the wood present is painted or stained, but why not try something a bit unique with a distressed, aged finish? You can devote the whole house to it, just one room, or a single piece of furniture.
You can use chalk paint to achieve this look, and it’s especially nice because it doesn’t take as much time because you don’t need to sand the item and it dries quicker. Once the item, whether it’s a table, chair, or the molding around your bedroom, is dry you can sand some of the edges to increase that aged feel.
To add to this decorating style you can incorporate some vintage pieces, such as refurbished chandeliers, sconces, hardware, or even metal baskets if you’re doing the kitchen or patio. Budget-friendly showcase pieces? Yes, please!
Walls attract a lot of attention. Whether it’s wallpaper, paint, or art hanging on the wall itself, they tell us a lot about you. What you do to your walls and what you put on them can showcase your personal style more than a lot of things.
Build out shelving around a focal point like a TV or fireplace and deck it out with your favorite knick-knacks. If you don’t have a focal point, create one with a huge piece of art that you love. You can check out those antique malls again or paint something yourself if you’re feeling crafty.
You could even collect a bunch of images, paintings and/or photography, that run around the same theme or color scheme and arrange them on the wall in a large grouping to create that same effect. You can try 3D pieces as well like wall sculptures or floating shelves.
And remember your frames. They don’t have to be all black squares. You can change it up and find large, ornate pieces at the thrift shop and then paint them a bold color.
You may also want to consider making a signature wall. You can do this by using wallpaper. There’s even removable wallpaper if you don’t want something as permanent.
Wallpaper has been updated with today’s technology. You can find it in a plethora of looks and textures, from blownup images to metals and brick. It can create a whole new vibe and style in an otherwise plain room.
There are definitely a few routes you can take with flooring. You can really create a wow factor with amazing flooring that reflects your style like wood-look laminate that resembles distressed, colorful wood. Or, you can use an impactful, patterns rug on an otherwise neutral floor.
Either way, these are great places to add a punch of personality. You can even paint a section of the floor a solid, striking color or paint on a design with a stencil like a mandala.
Clutter is one thing, but decking out your surfaces with purposeful collectibles is another. If you’ve always been a collector of first editions or vintage camera, modern art, etc., show it off! Create a truly personalized look by taking your favorite items and making them a special home on your shelves or tables.
When they are set up with care in what I always call “set-ups” you can create little scenes through the house that display your style and personality.
If you’re looking for new furniture that you can showcase or use to hold your treasures, we have a huge selection right here.
]]>You’re moving! Well, take it from us, that is no small feat. And when you’re moving to the desert there are a few things that you should keep in mind.
But that’s why we’re here!
We’ll help you to enjoy a smooth move with no unexpected issues as long as you stay on top of your game with these helpful tips.
Vegas is known well for everything it has to offer- luxury hotels, posh casinos, & incredible entertainment- but it’s also so much more than the strip.
While so many people come to visit and the travel and tourism pay for much of the city’s upkeep, there are also millions of people living here. Gambling and recreation support Las Vegas’s schools, medical facilities, shopping, construction, highways and transportation industries, and the other fun things to do for everyone who calls the Greater Metro area home.
Vegas holds thoughtfully planned communities for families, singles, and seniors with every basic service you’d need, such as great schools, shopping, medical services, parks, and active community and senior centers. And it’s continually growing. We see new amenities and homes go up almost daily.
Most of the population came here from somewhere else, tempted by the nightlife, job opportunities, and warm climate.
This is a beautiful city that definitely holds something for everyone, and you’re probably excited to be moving. But excited or not, moving is still stressful. Having been through it ourselves, these are our top tips when you’re relocating to the desert.
Yes. This is a desert. In fact, right now it’s a round 100° and will certainly go up. That’s certainly a high temp to be working in. If you are moving soon or plan to be, try aiming for our Spring and Autumn months. They offer mild days in the mid-70s and cool, breezy nights. The winter months can get a bit chilly too since the ground doesn’t hold onto the heat well.
If you’re able to move at that time, you’ll also be avoiding a lot of the tourists who flock to the city during the summer.
Additionally, if you’re not used to desert living, spread your move-in over a few days so that you can adapt to this new normal. During your move, and into the foreseeable future, make sure you and your family keep well hydrated throughout the day and take some downtime to cool off at night. This goes double for kids and pets.
Every box or bag needs a label, and don’t just say what’s in it, say where it’s supposed to go. You might also want to think about color coding. You can get different colored duct tape that can help you to see in a few seconds where the box is supposed to go. You can also number them if you have several going to the same room. That way you’ll know there are five boxes set to go in the kitchen, six for the bedroom, and so on.
Heavy items go in small boxes. Light items go in larger boxes. Think about books. If you back a large box full of books, you probably won’t be able to lift it easily or at all. If you put your books in several smaller boxes, you’ll be able to move them easier. This rule applies to everything you pack.
Stick to this for simplicity sake. If you have several rooms in the same box it will get confusing. Having smaller boxes will help to make this doable as well. You won’t be struggling to fill a box with items from all over the house if you stick to small and medium-sized boxes.
On Moving Day you should be done packing and your house should be stripped bare. You don’t want to stress yourself out more by struggling to finish packing while you’re loading up the truck.
If you’re not in love with a piece of furniture, and you’ve always kept it around out of sheer necessity, don’t take it with you. Sell it or donate it to a local charity. You can use the money toward your move and replacing it with something you actually enjoy. This can also save you on cost if you’re able to make it so that you don’t need as big of a moving vehicle.
If you’re worried about furnishing your home, we can help you. We offer a Whole Home Package when you’re relocating to the city, and we have a host of products to fill up your new space. Plus, we offer free in-home setup on all orders over $1,199 and have several financing options. You can check out our delivery options here.

]]>Moving is stressful, and when you’re moving to an apartment, it can feel that much more difficult to make the new place feel like home- especially since painting is typically not allowed.
The good news is that there are several ways to decorate your new home on a budget and make it feel bigger and more unique no matter your tastes. Here are a few ways you can decorate your apartment on the cheap.
Wallpaper has been updated, and no longer is it the formidable, hard to remove nuisance it once was. For renters or homeowners who like to change things up frequently, removable wallpaper can add color and personal style without becoming a near-permanent feature.
You can do a whole room, a single wall, or you can add unique decals in interesting shapes and then remove them if you have to move again. There are some especially cute options on Etsy like the one pictured.
Go to the thrift or antique store when you're looking for small decor touches and little knick-knacks. You'd be surprised by what you find. You could be coming home with a vintage camera, old books, metal tins, and wire baskets that'll work for storage.
Remember that you can paint anything, so if an item would work just not in that color don't fear. Slap some paint on it and your antique is now a modern art piece.
Bar carts are classy and hold your drink possibilities at the ready for you and your guests. They make entertaining easier and more fun. They can also be quite pricey if you’re looking at places like Crate & Barrel or upscale furniture websites.
Thankfully, we have several affordable options that range in style from modern to quaint and traditional. One of our favorites is the Coaster 3512 Serving Cart. At $60 it’s perfect for budget apartment buys.
Another option when you’re feeling DIY-ready is to find a cheap cart at your local flea market or hardware store. You can paint the entire thing, the hardware, or a combination of both. Then, all you need to do is add your own decor elements, like tumblers, cocktail recipe books, and bar tools.
You can even use the bar cart to show off your favorite prints, tableware, and expensive bottles of liquor.
Apartments are often small on space and using a mirror can help the space to feel larger. You can hang them on your walls or position a floor length mirror in an opportune location.
If you make it so that the mirror reflects a window and catches the most light, you’ll add even more dimension to the room.
We have a huge selection of mirrors at affordable prices. The Coaster Cheval Oval Mirror comes in a variety of finishes, would look great in a small bedroom, and is also $60.
If you want to splurge a bit more and add some modern appeal to your living room, the Coaster Circular Mirror with a gold frame and the Coaster Hexagon Mirror with a gold frame will look beautiful.
When you’re looking for your bigger items consider painting them to match your style. This can help you to personalize a piece and your room without breaking the bank.
If you’re going to paint something remember to wipe it down to get rid of any dust and buff away the glossy finish with sandpaper. You can spray paint it or add two coats of regular paint.
To ensure the new finish lasts, add a coat of water-based lacquer, polyurethane, or clear paste wax.
If you’re starting from scratch and don’t have any large pieces, take a look at our Whole Home Package. This 11-Piece set is a great starter option when you’re moving to Las Vegas and need to furnish every room.
If mirrors open up a space, clutter does the opposite. Get rid of unnecessary room accessories, magazines, and electronics, and spend the money you do have on furniture that can act as storage solutions, such as ottomans, chests, or vintage suitcases stacked to look like a table.
Additionally, when you place furniture like chairs in the corner at an angle you create a space for a basket or bin that can hide a bit out of sight and provide even more storage. Coaster makes several storage ottomans in different fabrics like leather and microfiber.
You don’t need to purchase a whole new lamp to create a new look. Just change up the shade. Older styles can date a room, and lampshades attract dust and grime over time. Getting a new shade can introduce a pop of color or a graphic pattern that brings interest to the room.
You’d be surprised how much of an impact updating hardware can have. New drawer pulls or door knobs can take old furniture into today. There are several places that you can find new hardware, and you can even search for some at antique or thrift stores.
When you’re renting, you might notice that the ceiling light or fan looks like it’s straight out of the 80s. Instead of letting these eyesores stick around and ruin your hard work styling your apartment, switch them out for more modern lighting options.
This can be an easy and extremely effective design change. All you’ll need to do is switch out the old unit and for the new one. If you have to move, take your nice fixture down and put the old one back up.
Just like removable wallpaper, tile stickers can add patterns to kitchen and bath tiling. There’s even " instant granite" that uses adhesive to stick onto existing countertops and make them look like they’re granite.
You can take these off easily, and they are relatively affordable, especially if you plan to stay in your place longer than a year. Plus, you can use these stickers to update an old fridge and transform it into a statement piece.
Again, Etsy is great for this. There are several types available like these ones.
You can definitely purchase beautiful art for a hefty sum or you might get lucky and find something you love at a thrift store or online, but a simple way to get art for your home is to just create it.
Local craft stores carry every type of paint and canvas available. All you’ll need to do is get some inspiration, Pinterest here you come, and then get painting.
You can even go with something with a modern-art look so that you won’t have to worry about making mistakes as much. There are tons of simple ideas out there that anyone can do. I did this and can tell you that space is a very simple, attractive thing to paint.
You can even go back to that craft store and take a class to hone your skills.
You can try your hand at photography too. Make your own color-themed art piece by taking a walk and capturing images of objects that are all the same color, like the blue door piece shown here.
Print out the images yourself or have them printed for you. Whatever your budget can handle. Then, stick your pictures in a collage frame, and you have a beautiful piece of art with a story behind it.
Plants. They add life, color, and can help keep the air clean. When you’re looking for plants for your home and want something low-maintenance self-sufficient plants like cacti or succulents like aloe vera are a great option. No green thumb required.
Stick your new friend in an interesting pot or bowl, or paint one yourself, and you’re good to go. You can shop for plants at nurseries or the local farmer’s market.
Another great thing to keep in mind is that plants will do especially well in your bathroom. The humidity will help keep them great and when you're in a sea of white they can add a lovely pop of color. Plus, there is usually a pretty decent window in the bathroom so natural light will be in abundance.
]]>As we’ve talked about here, going outside is great for your health and wellbeing. However, making your outside space feel exciting, welcoming, and irresistible is how you make going outside easy and something you look forward to. How can you accomplish that? Here are a few tips on how to create an outdoor oasis in your backyard, no matter what size.
Plus, as if that wasn’t incentive enough, having an outdoor space can add value to your home. Over 80% of home buyers said patios and front porches were key features they were looking for according to the “What Buyers Really Want” survey from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
So, why not make the most of your outside living experience?
The good news is that creating a comfy space is simple. Toss in a few pillows, even the oversized ones you can sit on, add a throw or two, and BAM! Comfortable lounging area.
What do people want most when they’re going to be hanging outside for a while? To be comfortable! When there isn’t a comfy place to sit or relax, you’re far less likely to be spending time outside.
A few good pieces that can kick start your outdoor oasis are the Furniture of America Abion Outdoor Sectional Set which is very plush and comfortable, plus sun-resistant, the Furniture of America Outdoor Aria Daybed, which is a loungers dream, and the Thy-Hom Cane Garden Outdoor Furniture Set, which is affordable and provides an umbrella.
Boost your signal with a WiFi antenna and use it to play some tunes for your guests. We all have a hard time putting down our devices and stepping outside. However, there are plenty of smart tools that can help you stay charged outdoors and working on breaking the habit.
One of the best ways to make sure you keep going outside is to make it as attractive and cushy as your indoor space. This might eat up a bit more of the budget, but it will pay for itself after a solid week or so of enjoying it.
You can change up your entry to the yard to french doors or upgrade your sliding doors. You can add weatherproof flooring, like tile or decorated concrete. You can even make sure the furniture looks like it belongs inside. The Rio Outdoor Furniture Set by Thy-Hom is a great example.
This outdoor living room furniture looks so inviting and warm that it would make sense in an indoor space. But you can be sure that it was designed to withstand the elements that Vegas weather has in store.
Outdoor lighting can make your house more marketable and appealing, makes it easier to see at night adding safety, and lets you enjoy more time outside. These ideas will really up your outdoor style:
Adding a bit of color, designs, or nicknacks can help to make your outdoor space yours. It’ll showcase your tastes and preferences so that anyone who comes to visit sees that it’s your space, not someone else’s.
Food and fire are our top reasons to go outside. Having a picnic, entertaining, or just enjoying cocktails. When you make a place that serves these purposes well, you’ll be sure to use it.
You need to protect not only your space but yourself against the Vegas sun and any inclement weather we do get. Try out:

]]>Outdoor activities, BBQs, festivals, family vacations, long days in the sun. Summer is here.
And one of the things people often forget about during summer is dehydration. You just don’t see it coming. Lack of water, electrolyte imbalances, and even heat stroke can be much more common and easy to experience than you might think.
Let’s dive right in.
Nowadays in the US, over 50% of all children and adolescents don’t get the hydration they need, stated research from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. When you look at those involved in sports that number skyrockets. A study in the International Journal of Sports Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism showed that of the 11- to 16-year-old children playing in a summer soccer camp, nine out of 10 of them weren’t getting enough water. This puts them at risk for developing serious health issues.
Dehydration can be serious and lead to problems like swollen feet or a headache and life-threatening conditions like heat stroke.
To keep yourself and your family hydrated, try out some of the easy tricks!
Generally, water is the best thing to drink for hydration. Some fruits and vegetables that contain a high percentage of water can also provide hydration. And while sports drinks with electrolytes can be good for those involved in high-intensity activities in very hot weather, they tend to be high in added sugar and calories.
It’s a lot better to drink water while you’re exercising, and after you’re finished, eat a healthy snack like oranges, bananas, or a handful of unsalted nuts.
Fruit juices or sugary drinks, like soda, can be hard on your stomach when you need more water. Additionally, avoiding caffeinated drinks, which can be diuretics that cause you to lose more fluids, will also be important.
To top it off, drink plenty of water before you go out in the heat. Don’t start your experience in hot weather already dehydrated.
Not only will your stomach and overall wellbeing be thankful for it, but your heart will also appreciate it too since keeping the body hydrated helps the heart pump blood easier and get it to your muscles easier.
John Batson, M.D, a sports medicine physician with Lowcountry Spine & Sport in Hilton Head Island, S.C., and an American Heart Association volunteer, says, “If you’re well hydrated, your heart doesn’t have to work as hard.”
Jennifer Williams, a research scientist with Abbott stated that to stay hydrated, you and your family often need more than water. You also need electrolytes and carbohydrates.
The nutrients help your body absorb fluids, and electrolytes – sodium, chloride, potassium, magnesium, and calcium – are critical to healthy nerve and muscle function. When we sweat heavily we lose a lot of electrolytes, so we need to replace these.
Luckily, electrolyte drinks like Pedialyte contain both electrolytes and carbohydrates, which are perfect when exercising for longer than 60 minutes or during any activity performed in extreme temperatures.
Did you know that your food choices can account for roughly 20% of your daily fluid intake? It’s true! Foods are a significant part of you and your family’s overall hydration health. The good news? Many foods we love during summer – like watermelon, tomatoes, pineapple, and strawberries – are very rich in water, carbohydrates, and minerals, including electrolytes.
Pre- and post-workout snacks that are high in water are a wonderful idea. You might also want to try infusing your water with fresh fruit and veggies like cucumber. It’ll make drinking enough water much more fun and tasty!
In fact, make drinking your water feel special and even a bit extra by taking it with you to the pool and sipping while you enjoy the weather. There are some great options that are stylish and keep you out of the sun right here.
It can also be a great way to get your kids to drink enough water which is crucial because they are more susceptible to dehydration and heat stroke. In fact, studies from McMaster University show that when given beverages with flavor, carbs, and the electrolyte sodium chloride, young boys willingly drink up to 90% more fluid than otherwise.
Parenting Hack!
Williams also reminded that urine color can be an easy way to check your hydration status. Before, during, and after outdoor activities, take a quick look at your urine. If your urine is a light lemonade color, it’s likely that you are properly hydrated. Dark yellow urine, like darker than apple juice, usually means you’re dehydrated and your need to rehydrate immediately.
Sweating is a major contributor to dehydration during summer sports. It quickly evaporates off your skin and in hot temperatures it does so even quicker. Williams suggests weighing yourself without clothes both prior to and following exercise to understand how much sweat you’ve lost and how much you’ll need to drink to recover.
For every pound lost between the beginning and end of your workout 16 oz. of water are gone.
Losing under 1% of your body weight during your workout is best according to Williams. Once you’re over the 1% mark, your performance can start to suffer and you’ll feel much more fatigued. For a ballpark number, if you weigh 180 lbs., you should be aiming for less than 1.8 pounds lost.
It’s also crucial that you begin your day and or workout hydrated- before you start losing water. Keep this up all day and be sure to replenish lost hydration as soon as you’re finished with your workout or activity.
What if you’re workout or activity is right away in the morning? You’ll need to make sure you’re plenty hydrated the night before. You aren’t drinking when you’re asleep, so it’s important to be good and hydrated before bedtime. To help with this, make sure you aren’t getting overly hot while you’re sleeping by turning the temp down. It’ll help you conserve water and sleep better.
Drink plenty of water a couple of hours before bed and when you get up.
You might never have considered it but traveling at the airport and being on a plane can be very dehydrating. You’re on the go and distracted from drinking enough water. Plus, airplanes are known for low-humidity air.
To avoid pricey water at the airport, pack an empty bottle in your carry on and fill it up at a water fountain. Several airports are offering special fountains specifically for refilling water bottles. If the dehydration is especially bad, pack a Pedialyte pouch as well so that you can replace lost electrolytes.
Also, don’t go crazy at the vending machine. Soda and salty snacks can add to dehydration. During the flight, you can opt for sparkling water instead of soda and hydrating fruit instead of chips as well. Williams says, “Soft drinks do a [bad] job at rehydration [...] [T]he high sugar concentration can interfere with your body’s ability to absorb water.”
John Baston M.D. explains that the amount of water you need depends on climate conditions, what you’re wearing, and the length and intensity of your exercise.
Another thing to keep in mind is that if you sweat heavily, you’ll need to drink more water. Certain medical concerns, like diabetes or heart disease, can also require greater water consumption.
Some medications can also lead to dehydration. For these situations, it’s best to talk to your doctor or GP to see how much water you’ll need to drink.
Baston also stated that “If you get thirsty, you’re already dehydrated.” Many of us have heard that being thirsty means hydration is already an issue, and it turns out this healthcare myth is actually a healthcare fact.
Baston also recommends weighing yourself to see how much water you’ve lost and states that “For every pound of sweat you lose, that’s a pint of water you’ll need to replenish.” That means you’ll need to drink about 16 oz.
Also, keep in mind that if you’re not sweating during vigorous physical activity where you’d normally sweat a lot it can be a red flag that you’re dehydrated and might develop heat exhaustion.
Overall, try to be drinking the eight 8 oz. glasses of water just to be sure you’re hydrated but don’t feel the need to drink so much water that you’re peeing constantly and it’s clear. That’s too much.
Hydration isn’t only crucial when enjoying physical activity. Sitting in the sun on a hot or humid day can also cause dehydration. People with a heart condition, are over 50, or overweight may also require extra precautions.
Additionally, when you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, are suffering from stomach upsets, or live in a very dry climate, like Las Vegas, you’ll need more water. When I was as big as a house thanks to my little girl, I was drinking a gallon of water a day!
Don’t risk your health. Stay Hydrated. Stay Happy.
]]>The average American spends about 93% of their life indoors according to the EPA. That means we only spend 7% of our lives outdoors. That’s crazy! It’s also very unfortunate because it’s one of the simplest ways to promote optimal health and wellbeing.

Working inside at a desk has a host of negative side effects, so taking the time to get outside for a few minutes throughout your day is especially important. Several studies have indicated that our moods take a positive turn when we spend time outside. It can even lessen the chance of developing depression and anxiety, and in some cases assist to treat the symptoms.
Better memory. Spending time outside can improve your memory, particularly short-term. The University of Michigan discovered that strolling through the park or even looking at photos of nature improved both memory and attention span.
Stress relief. Lower your stress levels by taking a break outside. Enjoying nature offers similar effects as that of meditating, including a lower heart rate and lower blood pressure.
Decreased inflammation. Being outside can also help naturally reduce pain! In 2012, a research study showed that students who were asked to spend time “forest bathing” had decreased levels of inflammation than those who were in the city.
Energy boost. The University of Rochester showed that 90% of people experience improved energy from just participating in outdoor activities. It can work two ways when you consider that being outside can make you want to be more active which has a host of benefits.
Improved brain function. Spending more time outside is even tied to increased levels of concentration, creativity, and better mental clarity. When you have these going for you, you’ll perform better at work and in life.
Increased Vitamin D. Most of us know that soaking up the sun, with proper protection, helps your body produce Vitamin D, which is crucial for bone growth and assists with immune system regulation. Make sure you’re getting that vitamin D you need so much by enjoying a sunny day.
Bolstered immune system. A study showed that adults who hiked two times a day for three days improved their white blood cell count by 40%. You don’t need to go that far. Any time spent outside being physical can help.
Enjoy the awesome health benefits of time spent outdoors without changing your life. Use the easy tricks below to help you get back to nature:

]]>Debuting at this year’s CES, the Dreamwave M.8 LE is massage redefined. The chair is only available for preorder at this time, but we got the chance to admire them at the Consumer Electronics Show and learned the wonderful details about this gorgeous new chair.
We sat down with Cliff Levin, Dreamwave’s founder and CEO, to learn more about the new massage chair. Here’s what we learned.
“We worked with a man named Ken Okuyama out of Japan. […] He does cars, so doors were a very natural place for his mind to go. We like doors because for people who’ve thrown out their backs, or for older consumers [...], or for people who are infirmed for any other reason, the doors make it incredibly easy to get in and out of the chair. [...] You get a little perch, you can sit and take your shoes off, and then you can swing your legs over very easily. If you’re familiar with massage chairs [...] knows that sometimes it’s difficult to actually climb over the leg rest to get yourself properly situated in the chair. So, if you have limited mobility, the doors are incredibly useful.”
“The Max Track for us is the combination of the actual steel rails that the mechanism travels on and the mechanism itself, which we call the Delta Wave mechanism. The mechanism is driven obviously by software. It’s got mechanically driven aspects to it and it also has pneumatically driven aspects to it. That mechanism able to travel in a track that is shaped kind of like a J combined with the way the chair reclines mean we have a massage chair that really, truly can work you from tip to toe.”
“It gets the back of your neck, and it can really get deeply into your neck if you want it to, and it’ll go all the way under your hamstrings, maintaining full contact with your body the entire time. And that whole ability can be described as Max Track.”
“So the way our Max Track differs from other track shapes [...] number one is with an S Track you actually have much more limited body coverage. S Tracks are limited just to the back portion of the chair. Much the industry has evolved into something called an L Track. The L Track is a fixed track shape that also fixed to a particular back and seat angle configuration. [...] Basically, the back and seat of an L Track chair have to move in perfect unison. In fact, they’re welded together. They can’t move separately. That’s an L Track. L Tracks actually are very good chairs. They get into nice and comfortable Zero Gravity positions and work quite a bit of the body.
Then, we step and take a leap into Max Track. As I said, [...] you can’t divorce the shape of the track from the way the mechanism operates in order to understand how Max Track is different. Max Track is shaped like a C or a J and because the mechanism has so much freedom of movement on those rails that it travels on it’s able to stay in close contact with your body throughout the length of its track.
What that means is in our new Dreamwave M Series chairs, you can actually be in a classical Zero Gravity position, but you can also be in a lay-flat position. Both of those positions are possible with our Max Track design. It’s unique in the industry.”
“There are different versions of the M Series of massage chairs from Dreamwave. … We’ll start high to low. There’s the M.8 LE model, the LE stands for limited edition. That model is all leather on the outside and material called Alcantara on the inside, which is a synthetic material you’ll find in super, super high-end sports cars. That’ s the M.8 LE, and it’s available in four colors. It also has a rose gold trim on it.
Then there’s the M.8. The M.8 functionally is exactly the same as the M.8 LE, but it has a synthetic covering on the outside, PU, … and PU on the inside. And then there’s the M.DX. And DX stands for Deluxe. It has one less feature than the M8s do. It doesn’t have a neck massage feature that’s available in those chairs, and it’s also available in fewer colors than the M.8. … Fifteen thousand for the Limited Edition. We will only ever build 2,000 of those in the world, and then we’ll stop.
They will come with a signed certificate from Ken Okuyama[, saying] Massage Perfection Meets Work of Art.”
Truly the M Series of chairs are one-of-a-kind and will provide incredible massage experiences for anyone who chooses to purchase one. Look for them out now!

The MagniStretch mattress is designed to allow your spine and muscles to decompress and relax like never before. In fact, it’s certified by the American Chiropractic Association. The bed is rated as a medium firm mattress, however, when I personally tried it out at CES it offered just the right squish for us side sleepers to enjoy. Plus, the way the mattress works it provides amazing lumbar and spinal support.
Patented and developed together with the University of Zaragoza’s Department of Mechanical Engineering, the inside of the mattress uses special laser cuts that work together to provide the stretching feature. And I felt it for myself, as the mattress compressed under my shoulders and hips, the section under my back almost felt as if it was lifted up and supported by the mattress itself.
And that’s not all. The MagniStretch also provides temperature regulation through the Memofoam and Outlast® cover. Using just your own weight and gravity, the mattress helps your spine to stretch and increases the space between each vertebra. It can even help your muscles to relax. This is the first mattress that’s proven to improve spine health and stretch. Even the Outlast® cover was developed originally by Nasa. After a few months, you’ll feel an improvement in your spine health.
Another great thing we noticed about the MagniStretch is that when delivered it comes in a tightly rolled shape that’s compacts and easy to install right in your bed frame.
Now, another real showstopper that was showcased at CES by Magniflex was the MagniSmartech. This mattress and adjustable base combo offer complete monitoring for an informed night’s rest.
This bed system, designed to work together, was created to help the user or users understand their sleeping habits so that they can improve their rest. The MagniSmartech monitors personal data including:
Registered in real time, you can use this information along with the information collected from the base including the temperature of the room, the brightness, and the noise level. There are three position presets- Zero Gravity, Reading, and Anti-Leg Swelling. There is also an anti-snoring feature, chromotherapy lights in the base for diffused color light which enhances relaxation, and an alarm clock function that either sits you up gentle, begins to vibrate, or turns on the chromotherapy lights.
This mattress also offers the Outlast® fabric for a cool night’s sleep as well as the Memofoam, Magnigel which is breathable and keeps you fresh and dry, and Elioform support. The bed system works together with the I Care App to provide personalized suggestions on how to improve your sleep quality and duration. You can even track your nightly habits.
Check out the videos below for a look at the bed base in action and an up close of the mattress right from CES.
With any mattress purchase of $499 or more, you’ll receive a free sheet set to deck out your new bed. The Nyah’s Linen Executive Collection by Dahdoul sheets offer an 1800 thread count and are 100% Egyptian Cotton. They’re easy to care for and very soft. You’ll have your choice between olive and eggplant while supplies last. These exceptionally breathable sheets will help keep you cool and will stay soft and wrinkle-free for years. Plus, you won’t have to iron these deep pocket sheets designed for oversized mattresses.
When purchasing your mattress please make sure to include a note letting us know what color you want when checking out.
